I tried for 2 hours last night to upload a song.it said "we cannot proceed".then after trying some more it would appear as if it worked but when I went to listen to it it would open up windows media player( a old looking version) and say done in the bottom lower left corner.then it would not play for anything.I'm using acid 4.0 and soundforge 6.0.I've uploaded many songs before with the exact same set up. its really bummin me out.my format for uploading was mp3.I tried everything.help please!
Okay, there are a couple of things to consider here. Last night my server crashed becaue it ran out of space on the file partition, meaning it wouldn't allow any more uploads no matter how small. That is fixed now. Second is to make sure the MP3 file is under 4 megs as that's the limit. Chances are you tried when the server was having problems, try again and let me know. Also make sure the song has a simple name with no special characters in it.
thanks eric, how can I tell how many megs my song is?and if its over how can I shorten it? can I upload more megs if I delete some of my older songs.not sure how this all works but thanks for your help again.kick ass site!
Those are actually two different things. 4 megs is the maximum upload per song. Then you have the amount of space in total for all of your songs, you should be good on that. To find out how big a song is on your PC before uploading, right click on it and select Properties, that will give you the size of it. Also, look for the sticky post at the top of any MP3 forum for EddieMan's How To shrink files.
