Shoutbox - Guitars101

Is there any way to turn off that Shoutbox. Having to wait for that to load every time any page is opened on this site has reduced me coming here to like once a week, and it takes so much more time reading new messages because that has to load from scratch every page view. I skip so many threads now just to avoid it (and it rarely changes, so it wastes a ton of bandwidth). Just a toggle in the UserCP to enable/disable like signatures?

There is a minus button in the upper right corner of it, which should hide it from view. Let me know if that helps.
