Whats with this link?

A member emailed me and left this link:

http://www.guitars101.com/jamroom/index.php?mode=login

Whats this for? He said he uploaded a song to the jamroom but when I clicked this link, I get a prompt for user and password. I can't get in.

Thanks.

It looks like he sent you just the login link, you have to register separately for the artists section. If you want just go to the artist page http://www.guitars101.com/jamroom/ranking.php?mode=band(%22der=5&pagebreak=50&pagenu m=1&header_template=artist_header.tpl&row_template =artist_row.tpl&footer_template=common_footer.tpl and find him there.

You don't have to log into the artist section to download an mp3 from the jamroom do you?

OK Thanks...I didn't even know this existed...I don't get to the jamroom much since I'm a cover player.

You do need to be an 'artist' to do that. Then when you add a song to your artist section (in the admin panel) it just automagically gets included on all lists and people can rate it from your artist page.

OHHH YEAH...forgot about that box. One more question. I recorded an original awhile back using a member posted original BT...I can't remember who posted it.... I read the Terms: "The material that you submit to our sites does not contain "samples" of any third party's sound recording or musical composition and will not infringe on any third party's copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary rights, rights of publicity or privacy or moral rights;"

Now I'm wondering if I shouldn't post my original or not since I didn't make the drum track? Hmmm. Is it considered public domain if it was shared here in a public forum???

I don't think I've ever read that, it's stock with the system I bought. Don't sweat that dude, you can post stuff you normally post here.

In my opinion it should be, but there are some in the current setup that have been restricted in use by the author.

Yeah...well if the creator of the said track objects, I'll happily yank it off the board. Hopefully that won't be an issue.
