A Mesa Boogie Project

I got a rack mounted Mark III a few months back, but i wanted to convert it back to the head version but i wanted a hardwood cab so I started with some poplar and this

The test fit

naked with out knobs

before clear

After clear

After this it turned out so good I needed a matching 2 x12 So I called up my guy at Mesa and he sent out the missing knobs, 2 90 watt celestions and some mesa enginering face plates and here it is

That looks great. What kind of dye did you use? What did you clear coat with?

Thanks.

I used a water based powder dye i got from stew-mac. Which was sprayed on instead of rubbed on. Then I used a water based polyurathane I got at home depot which was also sprayed on then wet sanded to 2000 and rubbed out with rubbing compound

Very nice. I've got a combo 212 amp that I'd like to convert to a head. To bad you don't live near me I'd get you to help me out.

Again very nice work......
