Any idea of what it\'s worth??
Hey Guys,
I adopted a new (to me) guitar and wanted see if any of you out there might be able to tell me what it might be worth. Other than knowing that it’s a USA series Jackson, I don't even know what model this is as it was designed as a commemorative edition for Guitar Center in 1994 – the neck plate has been stamped as #49 of 100 made. Here’s what I can tell you about the guitar:
Offset double cutaway body (can’t tell what kind of wood)
Seymour Duncan SH-12b Screaming Demon humbucker at bridge
Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB humbucker at neck
Schaller Tremolo
Volume knob only (no tone knob/control)
24 fret bolt-on maple neck
Ebony fingerboard with shark tooth inlays in mother of pearl
Bound peghead with mother of pearl logo inlay
I’ll also include some photos. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Looks like a Dinky (24 3/4" scale) model to me. The model number would be a DK- 2 or something.
Even though it's a special issue, I don't think those were the stock p/ups; likely stock were Duncan-designed or Jackson that were replaced with real SD pickups.
It's commemorative and U.S.A. made, so it's likely worth a decent sum.

Yeah, you're right about the pickups - I'm sure that the previous owner swapped out the Jackson pickups for the Seymour Duncans.
Appreciate the info on the model type - that helps. It would be sweet if the guitar were worth a few bucks. If so, I think that I may have scored - I bought this puppy for $240.

Re: Any idea of what it\'s worth??
Again, I can't help with how much it is worth. However, she looks a beauty.
But will the fact that the original pickups have been changed increase or decrease the value of the guitar ?
I remember someone saying that all original is best as far as retaining value is concerned.

Great score though !

Re: Any idea of what it\'s worth??
Again, thanks for the feedback guys. Mab - yeah, it's was a pretty good deal even without the commemorative stuff.
Mond - I was thinking the same myself - because the stock pickups are gone, it just might affect the overall value.

Re: Any idea of what it\'s worth??
If it had Select (which were crap) or Jackson, I'd say that adding the SD's (especially a Screamin' Demon!) would add to the value as they are HOT pickups. If you paid $240, I'd reckon that the price of the pickups plus having them put in would come to this...so you got a bargain! Anyway, never think of what you could have got it forr...you got it. Use it and fuckin' abuse it!
