Very nice craftsmanship it appears.
I assume you took the all red reissue guitar and striped/cleared it?
Looks nice. Some would argue that the guitar should not shine and should be dented and all, bu tthis one looks just peachy.

Yeah, you could say the back plates need to come off, and it needs the eye hole mods as well. But it looks just damn fine. Neat and tidy and a great finish.

Looks sweet.

Not authentic, but then you'd have to wear half the paint off it, rub tonnes of crap in the neck, add numerous fag burns, drop it a few times, sweat all over it and give it a dull finish.

This is much more pretty !

I used a white 1984 on this project. Makes the painting process for the white stripes easier. I hear you regarding the shinny finish versus the dull worn look!! It's just that this was my first attempt at a 5150 and I new it took a bit more skill and experience to do a good job recreating the wear patterns in the right spots and the overall look as well!! I just didn't want to half ass the job. I have to say that I real impressed with the way the SD Custom Custom sounds in this guitar.

I didn't clear over the space tape. The above picture is a bit decieving due to the angle and the reflection. Thanks for the comments!!!

Trust me, I put a bunch of time into this guitar. However, I am wanting to get my hands on another 1984 and have it done with a true replica finish. Don't get me wrong, if it doesn't sell, my feelings won't be hurt as I play this guitar every day. I am just one of those guys that like to have an ongoing project in his hands at all times.
