Mondola\'s Guitar Gear

Okay, I've been waiting until my new toy came back until I took some pictures of all of my gear. I had this custom paint job done on it. I don't think that you guys will like it though...

You should have seen the look on Jen's face. Well, she blatantly said, "You sad Bastard ! Do you want me to pose on the sofa in the background ?"

I know that you guys would have loved this addition, but I really didn't think that it would be necessary. There is enough eye candy there already...

I have really got to remember that when I move something out of the way, that I should really move it onto a sofa that is not going to be in the picture ! D'oh !

Well, it's my Ibanez RG470 that I fell in love with when I saw it, and even more so when I played her. She was a present from my psycho ex-girlfriend who then got jealous of her and stamped on the neck to break it. I only discovered this after we had broken up since she always banned me from playing it cuz she was jealous of the attention I gave to it. The neck has since been replaced, as has the girlfrind !

There's my Peavey Wolfgang Special Flametop that I bought with redundancy money. As soon as the cheque cleared, I raced down to the guitar shop, played numerous guitars in the shop (Ibanez Sabers, Wolfgang Standards, Fenders, Axis'), and this was my favourite, so she came home with me.

Then there's my Kramer 1984 reissue. I think it was Onrib that had built a guitar using Greg Rogers guitar parts. I found out that it would be cheaper and easier to buy one from MusicYo.com and then get someone over here to do the paint job. It's taken a while, but it has been worth the wait...

Pedals :

A ZOOM 2020 Multi effects, Zoom 505 II, MXR Phase 90, and a DOD Thrashmaster FX59 (to this day I have no idea where it came from).

Amplifier is my Marshall VS15R Valvestate. 15 watts, but it is load enough for me...

Re: Mondola\'s Guitar Gear

I know, you won't believe this, but I actually feel guilty for not playing my Wolfgang...

Have you ever heard anything like it ? A guitar making you feel guilty ?

Re: Mondola\'s Guitar Gear

I know, but I put this right this weekend. I played all three of my guitars. In fact, I played the shit out of all of them.

So they can stop giving me that look for a while...

Yeah, I have wanted one for ages as well. As soon as Jen said yes, there was no stopping me...

I like your guitars. I wish I had a good Ibanez too.
Guilty? I can't feel guillty, since I only have one good guitar, the Wolf Standard!

Re: Mondola\'s Guitar Gear

You are lucky dude !

I have three guitars and a wife (to be) that 't understand why I need 3 of them when I can only play one at a time...

Try as I may, she just doesn't understand it. Kind of like the offside rule in football...

"Well, you see, if one of the player's is between the defender and the goalkeeper and is interfering with play, when the ball is played then he is off-side !"

You had a nice paintjob on that Kramer!

I mis some tremolo arms.... It is just missing in the pics.....

It is a nice collection. You can't blame your equipment anymore..... LOL

I enjoyed watching these three nice guitars all together! Just missing a nice lady on the sofa to make the picture complete.

C'mon man, don't be shy. I was J/K. Just post them......

I used to blame my guitars in the beginning, when I had a crappy Aria Pro II guitar and a no-name one. After I got the Jems, I needed to find something else to blame my crappy playing.... Finally I concluded I need to practice more and stop playing difficult stuff.... LOL

Re: Mondola\'s Guitar Gear

Yeah I know dude. It's more of a confidence thing... Firstly, I need to figure out how to mic my amp and then get some decent sound out of it, so that it is half-listenable.

Then, I need to resist the urge to post something as soon as I have recorded it, as it's usually crap ! So I'll try to spend more time on them.

How ever, time is a luxury I don't have much of at the moment...
