Looks great! Nice job.
Did you fill in the trem cavity so it only goes down (just like the EBMM)? Details on the process would be cool. Well done! |

It' actually just a spraypaint job. I put the Floyd on myself and it's down only. I bought the guitar at a Musician's Friend scratch & dent warehouse here in KC for 130 bucks. It had the amber quilt film and standard Strat style trem. It was all out of wack. The strings were pressed all the way against the neck and the p/u switch was busted. I wasn't expecting much out of it, I'd just wanted to do a Frankie project for the longest time, and if I screwed it up, it wasn't a big loss.
So I sanded the body down a bit (top only, taped up the sides along the binding), painted black, let dry overnight. Striped, then painted white, let dry overnight, then striped and painted red. After that I put a clearcoat. I used a still from the "Runaround" video as a refrence. Same with headstock. The Ernie Ball emblem is actually just a sticker I printed out from a photo. It just blends right in with the white. Then I got ambitious and decided to put in the Floyd. I was really scared it wouldn't line up right. But I got lucky and it did. I put my dremel tool to good use for filing down the nut. I just really winged the whole project and had fun with it. And the best part about it, with some trial and error and little fine tunings it plays great. It's really comfortable to play and I'm suprised at how good it sounds. |

It's a real Floyd. I took it off a Strat that I've kind of parted out.

It's an OLP. The Music Man logo was just printed from a picture online and stuck on there. It blends right in with the white part of the stripes on the headstock. You could print the logo onto a sticker paper too and just stick it on. I didn't have sticker paper, so I just glued it on and clearcoated over it.
