my gear
these are my babies, I have a 70's era super reverb, and a cyber twin. The black guitar is a G & L legacy i bought new in 1991. I modified it with lace sensor pickups and its my main axe. The natural is a 69 tele, she is getting old so I don't gig with her much, but she has a killer sound!! The sunburst is a 99 strat, I use it as a back up and on most SRV songs we do.

Re: my gear
Sweet gear man. I love strats. How do you like the G&L compared to the Fender? Big or little difference side by side?

Re: my gear
There is very little difference. I like the G&L a little better but I was lucky enough to get to order it from the factory set up how I wanted. I got the jumbo frets with the deep V neck maple neck. My strat has a thinner neck with standard size frets. Other than that, the tones are very close. I did find the quality on the G&L a little higher.

Re: my gear
Did you change the pickups covers on the sunburst or did it age like that already?

[/ QUOTE ] I bought it from a pawn shop so its possible the original owner changed the covers. I did inspect that though and the covers look original, I don't see any signs that they were changed like scratched screw heads
