My new drum set...

Here is the "new" drum set in my studio. I suck at drums, so I am thinking that this may motivate me. I just got a DM5 brain to work with it, and it sounds pretty killer. But I still suck. I suck. Did I mention that I...ah...nevermind.

That is sweet Trip! You even have it on a riser. I see the need for the mic for the cymbals but it looks like there is another mic down below, curious what it's for since the drums are electronic?

Re: My new drum set...

The SM58 that you see is actually for vocals. This studio is more set up for rehersal than recording. There is no mic below, so you may be seeing a reflection or something. The riser has a purpose. You see, the studio has the 10" PA speakers up high in the corners (I will take some pics sometime), and the riser actually has a custom-built 2-15" sub underneath. When you are playing the drums and you hit the kick, you really feel it in your arse! It is pretty cool to rock out and not bother anyone.
