what did you cut that pickguard out with? a chainsaw? Pickguards are damned tricky to work with... I like the blues one, well done you! but I'm not sold on the other - despite my lack of god fearing tendencies - how many pieces of wood is that body made of? I count 5 but there may be 6? Sometimes guitars are better left in a solid colour.. . it might play great, but its a big turn off (to me) to see that amount of joins in a guitar body
At the end of the day, if it plays good, looks good and floats your boat - thats all that counts
Some of the best tones I've had in my life came from a Chinese Squier, probably one in 23 million though
