Newbies Rig

First post! Looks like a nice forum. I even recognize some names from the now blocked "Official" message boards.

Anyway, here's my gear, or "other women" as my bride calls them.

Wolfgang Standard - Yamaha SE150 - Ibanez PF5

90 Watt Crate PA4 - Line 6 POD w/ Floorboard

Peace!

Re: Newbies Rig

Welcome onboard.
I remember you from the other forum.

We have a similar setup, but I opted for a Flextone II amp instead of running the POD through a PA. I still use the POD for recording onto the computer.

MAybe we can share patches one of these days, since we have the same hardware...

Re: Newbies Rig

Hey thanks all!

@ CanyonCarver: Looking back I think the Flextone is the way to go. I may do that yet. I play quite a bit at church and just plug my POD straight to the PA - Light and Quick!

Peace!

Good point about taking the POD to plug it into the house system at church. It sure beats having to log around a 50-pound box.
I too have that option where I jam (also a church with full sound system), but for some reason I like having the actual amp in front of me + I can sit on it as I jam, and feel all the good vibrations this sucker can produce!

Re: Newbies Rig

Very nice rig. If you consider this to be a Newbie's rig, I'd love to see it when you've got some serious stuff in there !

You're pedals and ampps a speakers pap all over what I have got !!!

Re: Newbies Rig

Well, maybe I mistitled the post. I meant "Newbie" in that I was new here. I've been playing about 3 years.

I can't play in stereo, unfortunately. It would be sweet!

Peace!

Wait a minute, I don't have it in front of me, but I believe that the POD has righ and left outputs. You should check. I think you can play stereo... unless your PA is mono.

Re: Newbies Rig

Nice gear man.......sheesh....my first amp was a crappy Randall RG-60 and an Electro-harmonics fuzz box and a cheap Les Paul copy.
Sounded like shit......so I had a pair of powered headphones that I ran the fuzz box into and cranked it up all the way.....sounded way better than the Randall..LOL.
I think that's why I have so much gear now cause I don't wanna have to go through that again!
