Might sound silly but this is a way of making a straight D sound massive. You all know that an E or A sounds amazing because so many songs are written in that key and it's a bigger spread (5 and 6 strings if needed). Anyway, when you play a D, hit the A string as well and just hear the sound it makes. Check it out on my version of Crazy Train in tributes-I hit the D most times I go to the D in the intro and bridges. Just wanted to share a rockers tip with you! I just read back the post and it makes NO sense...I'm talking about a D chord. Hitting the A string when you hit the D chord cos there is an A note already on the 2nd fret of the G string that is in the chord of D. This just powers it up...that makes more sense!
Uh oh...trouble brewing...and I figured it was driving lessons that would be the major pain in the ass. The boy has discovered the POD and demands he makes a noise. The other half is now being driven up the wall by both of us...anyone got a spare room for an impoverished musician and his 5 year old?
