An Important Tip For all you shredders!
first of all, if you are a shredder, go out and buy your self some Dunlop Jazz Stubbies! i am using a 2mm one right now, but thats cuz i dont have the 3mm ones.. if u dont believe me, try them out.. they are superior to any other pick on the market ( in a shredders case .)
Second of all.. when ur doing fast alternative picking runs.. pick VERY VERY lightly!! your pick should just barely be hitting the strings.. ill show an example of picking soft.. this also applies for sweep picking.. dont pick hard, pick soft and it will play smoother!!

Great tip, Redemption. I think that I've always had the bad habit of grabbing on to my pick too tightly and it greatly impairs my alternate picking speed.

Re: An Important Tip For all you shredders!
atm my pick of choice is also a tortex. But its a small heavy triangular green one. My all time favourite pick is a small heavy onyx one made sometime during the 80's. Unfortunately i havent seen any other picks like it.

Tip: Dont forget to throw your guitar around your neck as the smoke bombs explode and the little wheels in your truss spin around .

lmao, at my last concert, our last song was Neil Youngs rockin in the free world, and at the end when the cymbals were crashing, we had our whole light truss goin insane and the smoke machines on full and i put my guitar over my head and startin rippin, and without notice, the other guitarist ran and slid across the stage and played on his knees.. mean while the crowd saw a silouette of us from the strobe light.. it was badass!!
as for picks.. danny, they are made of a diff type of plastic, and are smaller.. i tried the purple tortex's but i find they arent sharp enough at the end..

Re: An Important Tip For all you shredders!
Jazz III rules. Takes a while to get used to it but there ain't no goin' back once you do. My shredding has improved since switching to jazz picks. When playing slow clean melodic peices though, I must use a bigger heavy pick.
