Extended Sweep Picking Exercise

Yngwie must use this pattern in everyone of his solo's but when u can do it as fast as him who to blame him cause its really cool.

e------------------------12-h-17-p-12--------------------
b--------------------13-------------------13----------------
g-----------9---14----------------------------14-----------
d-------10----------------------------------------------------
a---12--------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------

it took me absolutely ages to nail the position shift so bare with it

Re: Extended Sweep Picking Exercise

this is a tricly little one damn lol . im not much of a sweeper . the few sweeps i do know are fairly straight forward stuff . my fingers seem to disagree with me when it comes to sweeping . and i dont have much patience for sitting n going over n over n over n over a pattern lol . but i did record this slowly then speeded it up alot to make it a sweep . and kept the pitch at normal . and it sounded neat . definately something yngwie uses alot . and you are probably right . in every solo i bet we could find it . hes a predictable guitar player . with a wasted talent really . the guy can play . so why is he still playing the same licks he was playing 20 years ago ? ... oh well . thats another discussion entirely lol . cool lick thanks tony

Re: Extended Sweep Picking Exercise

to help explain how he did that exercise he used 2 A minor arpeggio's using parts of different patterns and then added a high A on the 17th fret.

pattern 1

e-----------------8---
b-------------10------
g-----------9----------
d-------10------------
a---12----------------
E-----------------------

pattern 2

e---------------------------12---
b-----------------------13-------
g-------------------14-----------
d---------------14---------------
a---12-h-15--------------------
E----------------------------------
