Help me write good metal riffs please

hey i have been playing guitar for nearly 2 years and am in a band who play sort of heavy emo kinda music but i need help writing new metal riffs! Can anyone give me any tips/advice on this?

i was just wondering if there were any sort of guide lines it helps to stick to when writing your own heavier riffs?

haha...thought it might be you mate! Not really, experiment like hell and keep it choppy. The detuned stuff sounds great with that low chuggin' going on...Best way is to get the POD, plug it in, set your pc to record and just noodle until you get something that sounds memorable.
