How do you play EV Halen's Catherdral? TAB??

its not very hard once u get hang of it

To get you started without tab (and I'm sure you'll pick the rest up when you work this out)...from the main part after the swells, play a Bmaj so 2nd fret on the A, 4th fret on the D, G and B. Then move the shape up 4 frets to the 6th fret, then another 4 to the 10th fret, then another 4 to the 14th (Keeping the same major shape thruout). You should hear it now and you'll see it just moves about. Once you have the shape it's then learning the swells with the volume pot but a vol pedal is easier to control.

Thanks Guys. I went to a site and got the tab which i really just used to find where my fingers went. I got the TRICK down to make with the hammer ons, pull offs, and volume swells.

I just need to get a copy of the cd with that song on it, because I actually had an album when I was in junior high and don't have it any more.

I need to see how Eddie Phrases it. It does sound impressive. Does anyone have the EXACT Delay Setting????

I am operating on memory here but I think the setting was 400 ms...

i don't know what Ed uses but i use 430ms analog delay with like very minimal feedback , seems to work fine, but its a lot of practice to get it down, its a tough one, but fun to play!!

EVH uses his volume knob and a digital delay set to 2.5 repeats at 350 to 400 milliseconds. (You have to figure out what sounds best to your hear in that range)... I seem to recall I would set mine closer to 400ms...
