Ok, Who Can Show Me The Mean Streets Intro?
I'm back playing guitar after 15 years off and want to final sit down and play the Means Streets intro. I know a tiny piece but would like to know it all. I can't seem to find any Power Tabs. If I can't find out here, I won't find out anywhere.
Thanks.
Dave

Hi Dave,
You'll find the Mean Streets powertab at this site: http://www.mikesguitarsite.co.uk
That's the easy part - playing that intro riff is a whole other story. Have fun playing.

Re: Ok, Who Can Show Me The Mean Streets Intro?
Thanks, Raven. I'll check it out. I've seen one or two but don't know if they "look" right. I have an old VH video tape to pull out because he starts his solo with the intro and then improvises on it.
Regards.
Dave

Best thing I can suggest is to browse through a couple of them and play along to the song as well, what sounds and feels right will fill the rest in for you.

Re: Ok, Who Can Show Me The Mean Streets Intro?
Cool tab! Where on the neck/strings is the left hand tap? I get the index finger on E/B at 12 and the thumb on low E at 12 but I'm not clear on the left hand.
Thanks.

The beginning is wrong. The transcriber got the downbeat located wrong. You'll trun into wonder bread if you learn it this way

Re: Ok, Who Can Show Me The Mean Streets Intro?
I have NEVER been able to do this.
Even watching him do it, I still can't understand how the fuck he's making it sound like that, or even how he's doing it...
And I'm bloody well watching him do it !!!

WE CAN'T GIVE UP BROTHERS!!! I'M SO DAMN CLOSE!!! DON'T MAKE ME WATCH VHS TAPE TO SEE HIM DO IT!
Ok, I had to get that out.
I'm going to look at the tape tonight. Like I said, I know what my hands are supposed to be doing but I can't find the rhythm/pattern. I'll touch base later.
Right now I know all you forum veterans are going "Uh, yeah sure you will". But have faith. This has been a "Holy Grail" of sorts for me.

I've been meaning to learn this for a while. Everytime I go to learn it, I go

I have a live video of Eddie doing it, but it will just make you scratch your head even more. I would post it, but it's 40MB big. The quality is pretty lame and the camera views don't help

I just ripped the audio from the video. It's quite different than the album. He adds a lot. He does the tapping part a lot differently here and there.

Eddie looks funny when he tries to walk and tap at the same time. The camera angles do suck quite a bit.
