Picking Exercise ala DiMeola

Here's a really excellent picking exercise. Work on it very slow. Repeat it over and over until you can play it in your sleep. Then, start working it up to speed. One day practice it muted and the next day practice it unmuted. I have included an mp3 exerpt of what it is supposed to sound like.

Observe the picking. Notice the two down strokes next to each other. This is important to syncing it, otherwise, it would feel very awkward. If you find it boring, realize that once you master this, you may be able to play Eruption note-for-note.

Hint Repeating measure 2 over and over will help if you find your picking hand not wanting to cooperate. Alternatively, threatening your picking hand with a hammer may work also

Thanks CanyonCarver glad you enjoyed it. The exerpt is the actual part from the song. It's not me playing it... I wish it was
