the thing about tab

Tab leaves a lot to be deciphered as far as what fingers are used, I don't understand why tabs don't have some left hand fingering written at the top of the tab, this would make things so much easier ...I sit and just work it out (hopefully with accurate tab)until I figure out how it works better, quicker, lends itself to the next progression or place I want to go in the song...I don't even know if I am doing it right or what...hopefully this all comes in time as I learn more

I have bought a lot of video instructions, take Kurt Mitchell's ACDC tape for instance, he shows how to do some parts of some songs, I also have bought a book called the definitive collection of ACDC tabs, they are played differently than what he is showing, neither one sounds dead on right to me, I can also tell some stuff is missing from the version on the cd's...I guess it is a more playable version of it in a live setting...so I am messing with altering how it is played to make it sound right (to me) for a recording

this is more of a comment or maybe I am just rambling..as usual

Yeah, that's the thing about tab and even standard notation. It's up to the interpertation of the person doing the transcribing as to the fingering for a lot of things.
