Van Halen - Panama (intro)

Howdy Folks,

I Recntly got the 1984 & Diver Down Tab Book which are really great. I wanted to learn how to play panama but I am having a hard time with the bloody introduction. it is so difficult. i dont know if its the phrasing, i concentrate on those set of two palm mutes after every chord. But when i concentrate on the palm mutes, i play the chords slower. how fast are the chords played i know the chord and the two palm mutes are in triplets but i cant seen to get it right, folks i need your help here i really like panama and i definitely wanna play it so if anyone can help me out kudos to you. yours truly,

I always used to hit the palm muted note once instead of twice and then eventually built enough speed to hit it twice, so try hitting it once and see if that helps. [img]images/smilies/dunno.gif[/img]

Hey VanHalen1 try this link it has audio clips along with the tab and he evens slows it down so you can understnd it a little better, it has helped me with a couple of VH songs! [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]

Not showing off, but listen to my clip, slow it down if possible, then give it a whirl. Try working on the chord changes before trying to play the song. That's where you will get tripped up the most. [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]
