Where should I start to learn Malaguena

I heard this song on the internet. Wow, it sounds amazing by Carlos Montoya. I would love to be able to play it. I dont know where I should start though. I can't playthat fast and I don't see any tabs for it. I also dont know what scales I should practice to learn it or if there's a certain way to use the right hand that will help me play fast enough. Does anyone have any ideas on where I should start and what I will have to do to learn this? Also how long it might take me to actually play it. O i forgot to say name of the song is Malaguena.

This is a rather tough piece if you're not used to playing fingerstyle guitar.
I suggest that you check into buying an official and accurate transcription of it.
A good tab of it can be found from the publishing company, Hal Leonard.

It looks a lot more difficult than it is. I play the "easy" version but it sounds great. I enjoy it.

I can play the hard version on a 12 string but I usually play it on a steel 6 string acoustic.

I heard a couple versions of Malaguena when i was 18 and it convinced me that i needed to learn to play flamenco style!! Never really did, but picked up some fun and interesting technique along the way. Not sure if i've ever heard an authentic version of this song or not...time to find one! I always had trouble picking with all five fingers, so i use a pick like you normally would, and fingerpick with the remaining three fingers. Sorta feel like i'm cheating, but it gets the job done.

I kinda worked up a version of my own several years back, based on the basic melody, so i could practice fingerpicking. I recently worked that into an instrumental metal tune....check it out if you like
