Well, I've got some questions.
First off, how do I end up on the island in the first place? Is there a huge plane crash, which I survive? What was I doing on the plane in the first place and why the hell did I have 10 and exactly 10 CDs with me?
You say that no mp3s are "allowed" on this island. How about other formats. If I had enough warning, it would not be a huge ordeal to buy and rip or download my entire music collection in .flac, and it would literally be a nothing job to convert everything into .ogg, .wma or some other lossy format now. Plus, who is there to enforce the no .mp3 rule? Is the island some evil, overmicromanaging, anti-freedom monarchy dictatorship? Why am I not allowed to have mp3 files with me?
Are DVDs allowed on this island? If so, how many? If not, how about data CDs? flash memory keys? external hard-drives? Satellite internet access?
Is there any means of playing the CDs provided on the island? A stereo? A computer? A boom-box? What kind of quality? If not, what would be the purpose of packing 10 CDs? Is there anyone else stranded on the island? Are they allowed to bring CDs or mp3s? How many? What did they bring? If there's not anyone else there, that raises the question again what am I doing there? I can't think of any scenario where choosing 10 CDs would be the most important and vital action to take. If I were eternally stranded on an island, sooner or later I would either die or kill myself. Most likely starvation would be my death -- "stranded" indicates a rather empty, barren island, and I can't imagine an island that you are "stranded" on to get catering, you can only eat coconuts and seasalt for so long.
Would I be allowed to bring in excess of 10 CDs if I only kept music on 10 of them? Or would games, documents, etc... stored on CDs cut into my allotted 10?
With some more clear paramaters, I might be able to answer the question properly.
