Hi there,
My friend has a son. He must be mid-teens now. Around 15, 16. Maybe a little older. Anyway, a long while back, I had given my friend a copy of
Thunder's -
Behind Closed Doors.
Anyways, I gets a call from my friend telling me that his son had come down the stairs recently with this copy in his hand saying, "
Dad, is this one of yours ?" My friend explained that it was, and that it had been given to him by me a long while back.
His response to this was, "
Have you got anymore of this kind of stuff ? It's fantastic !!!"
So my friend rang me recently and asked if I could send him some stuff because he has no idea what has happened to his rock collection. He knows it somewhere, but it has taken a lower priority since bringing up to kids and him going back to University and he doesn't know if he's lost it completely, or if it's just been, "tidied away". But anyway, he can't find it.
Well, whilst on the phone, I started naming some names, and he was loving it. Anyway, I decided to send the boy 10 albums, in order to encourage him. He's a drummer, but has started playing guitar as well, so I wanted some classic stuff that would appeal to him musically, as well as guitar wise and drum wise.
I just pulled out what I consider great albums, but not to heavy and complex to get into, because I didn't want to put him off. That's why there's no
Dream Theater or
Metallica. I just figured they might be a little too heavy and complex for him.
Anyway, this is what I ended up choosing :
