I have watched it this entire season and man Bo fkin rocks, he has impressed the shit out of me, that dude can sing in any style and man to sing in front of a national television audience acapella like that takes some fkin guts, dude is fkin versatile and has got stage presence, he just looks like he is at home up on stage!!

Now, to put it in perspective, the UK version of this program was full of saccarine fools and SC was the only one to cut through the bullshit. Exporting him, Like Ann Robinson (weakest link) takes the humour out of context and it doesn't always work in the US. From what I saw it was the generic SC being brutally honest. I guess it doesn't travel well - but if he has got you guys hating him I am sure he is happy ![]()

Of all the shit that happened with the 'Pop Idol' shows, at least we got the best r 'n b voice for 20 years to come out of it. Stand up Lamarr. Awesome singer and prolly one of the truest voices NOT to win in this hyped up programme and still have a very LONG career.

I find myself agreeing with Simon most of the time. I am the sort who likes people like Simon who don't sugar coat things and are consistant. My wife likes the show and I find myself watching it with here and I think Bo is a pretty damn good singer.

There was some special on last night in conjunction with American Idol called (something like) "Idol's Worst Auditions." As the name implies, this show featured the worst of the William Hungs. This featured clips from Idol auditions all over the world. Simon was a judge in every one of them. What I witnessed was not a person acting as an assertive talent scout trying to merely sift through people to find the gold nuggets, but a person who appeared to take personal pleasure in slashing people to the ground, even people who were obviously kind of fragile and vulnerable to such slicing commentary. They would show Simon saying something so completely unnecessary (even after the person auditioning already got the point that he/she was not going to make it through) and then they would show the person's face, which was filled with suicide-like terror, and then go back to Simon's face and he was just staring them down like it was a personal vendetta. The look on these people's faces prior to Simon getting in his last words was something like "Well shit, I thought I was pretty good, but apparently I might not be. Although I'm disappointed, life goes on." After Simon threw in his final commentary their facial expressions were more like "I am going to find the first private location in this building and slice my wrist up with the closest sharp object I can find." Before last night's special, I just thought that he was annoyingly over-critical, hyper-subjective and pompous, but what I saw last night really affected me and my opinion of him. He struck me as borderline evil in his motivation. I agree that some people obviously need to just be told...point-blank...that they are not fit for a singing career. But his commentary is so over-the-top sometimes, in conjunction with the look on his face, that I've got to wonder about the nature of his motivation. Even my girlfriend opted to turn it off after this one incident where the person auditioning (a seemingly nice and genuine person) had received negative reviews from the judges, and clearly got the point that he was not going to make it. He even started to turn and walk out of the audition room, and Simon stopped him to point out that he was the worst singer in the entire world (he reinforced it by stating it a couple of times) and that no one would ever buy an album by him. The look in Simon's eyes was so sinister...and the look in this guy's face was so torn-to-shreds that we both turned off the TV and were done with that show. It wasn't funny anymore, it was just plain dark. Fortunately....to end on a good note....Simon's pompousness DID cause me to turn off the TV and go down into my studio to jam out some tunage, so I guess at least ONE positive did surface from that bafoon.

KC it's all done for the ratings. You cannot tell how ANYONE is based on how they are on TV. He may very well be the world's biggest douche IRL but on TV he is how the network wants he to be. As for those people auditioning, if you had to sit through thousands of William Hung-like talents, you'd be acting pretty similar. You need thick skin to be a performer. If you can't take the heat then get out of the kitchen, as they say
