No, not for bass and not in Texas. Here in Minneapolis.
I'm just waiting now for them to respond back so we can set up a day to jam. From what I hear of them - they seem cool. It's important that we "get along" together you know? Otherwise it could be hell and I wouldn't do it even if they liked my playing.
But in my regular job it's very important that I "get along" with strangers - as I meet new poeple everyday. If I couldn't do that, I wouldn't be able to do my job.
So I guess I'll just have a go at it. I'll let ya know when the jam date is.

Those are "Cons"??!!
I guess not everyone can like kicking drunk pricks in the head, but getting paid?? What can possibly be wrong with that??!!

Heheh, I usually leave the kickin' in the head part to the Bouncers
BTW now that I think about it - I had some really nice bouncers and bikers take care of me and my axes at this club my band used to play at.
A club in St. Paul called Peppercorn's. Theres a biker gang that used to hang there called "Hell's Outcasts". Bad ass doods all the way - they were nice to me. They offered to watch my gear when I wanted to run up to the bar or out in the audience to mess about. How could I tell a 6' 10" Hell's Outcast no? Hehehh.
When I played the song "Move It On Over" ala Lonesome George - they always got rowdy. During the slide solo they'd walk up onstage when I was jammin and tip a pitcher of Beer over my mouth and pour. Fun times man - those guys were fun. But they'd beat the crap out of ya too if they didn't like you. I saw them first hand beatin' the piss out of rival bikers from other gangs. Ahh the good old daze. .

Reminds me of a joke. I went to park my car up in Liverpool once and as I got out of the car, a young lad said to me, "Giz a fiver, an' I'll watch yer car mate !" I told him I was okay, as I'd left my dog in there.
"Oh, he can put out fires, can 'e mate ?"

Good luck with the try outs.
