Big Wreck

I just got back an old CD that I lent to someone and I had forgotten how good it was. If you guys have never heard of the Canadian-based band Big Wreck, do yourself a favor and check them out. Although their current status is similar to that of Van Halen, their fist CD titled "In Loving Memory Of..." is a must for creative, progressive rock (they only have 2 CD’s, both are good). Ian Thornley is a serious musical talent. I hope to hear more from him (and hopefully this band) in the future.

-Trip

(Edit: Added a few links to some sample songs in post below)

Re: Big Wreck

I'm always into checking something new (older) out. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never heard of them, and I'm always looking forward to more good prog stuff.

Re: Big Wreck

I just threw a few tunes on my FTP site for you guys to check out. "That Song"
(ftp://ftp.trepinski.com/pub/Big Wreck - That Song.mp3]
is more radio-friendly whereas "Overemphasizing"
(ftp://ftp.trepinski.com/pub/Big Wreck - Overemphasizing.mp3)
shows Ian's talent a bit more. I just love the emotional slide work that Ian does.

Re: Big Wreck

Ain't heard of them but will definitely check 'em out. I like to hear new stuff. My big find of last year was ARK without a doubt. Jorn Lande...now there's a singer!
