Blackout 2003

Hey everyone hows it goin', I am just now getting back online unfortunetly Detroit was part of the big blackout so we have been without power since about 4:10 pm EDT yesterday [img]images/smilies/icon_rant.gif[/img], the power came back on this evening so that is good but we are still are having to boil our water [img]images/smilies/wutblau.gif[/img] There are long ass lines at gas stations, luckily I had already filled up before the blackout, there was a line at a dry ice place that was 3 blocks long, but fortunetly there wasn't much looting. Was anybody else here effected?

That really sucks TJ, fortunately I am on the west coast so it didn't really mess with anything here. As bad as all that was that happened it sounds like people did the right thing, there's hope after all! I hope you get your water back soon dude.

Yeah everybody pretty much kept their wits about them through a very difficult situation [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img], the crime rate was about normal for Detroit so there wasn't much if any looting or anything like that. The way the power went out just like that it was aslmost as if it was right out of a Godzilla movie [img]images/smilies/icon_wink.gif[/img] [img]images/smilies/icon16.gif[/img]

Frankly, I'm just glad I'm not living in New York any longer. We had a 31 hour blackout a few years ago and it was not pleasant. It was hotter than hell and there was NOTHING you could do about it.

Sorry for anyone here that had to go through it. I'm sure it sucked.
