checking posts
alright...a little trend going on that bothers me. ..When I see a post that says You gotta check this!! Listen to this...a must here. Sometimes nothing. The way it seems to work here, which is fair is to check others posts. Nobody can check all everyday obviously, but it's aslo sad when i have checked posts that sound amazing but nobody checks it.

Re: checking posts
Flair we're beating a dead horse to death here. I think this was covered already and most people understand. I haven't had the time, of late, to check every post in originals, covers, and contest myself. I try to get in some at work and at night while I am home but it just isn't possible to listen to everyone anymore. There are some regulars that crank out a new tune everyday for christ's sake If I cannot devote some quiet time to really listen to a tune I don't bother cuz I feel I am doing the artist an injustice just to comment for sake of commenting. Right now I am just checking to see what's going on...I just spent 2 hours raking leaves and am exhausted. As soon as I finish these three beers I have left I am going to lay my own music down and get in some much neglected playing time. I am sure others, like myself, are just busy and don't have the time either...it isn't something to be taken personally, it's just a fact of life. I have to juggle work (home and office), wife, dog, motorcycling, paintballing, and my own musical endevors THEN spend time here too! I wish there were more hours in a day and more days in a week
Cheers...

Re: checking posts
I try to check the originals every few days - I am sure I miss loads but I do try to keep up. The worst thing for me is when I hear something that just doesn't do anything for me. Rather than being negative with nothing constructive to say, I choose to say nothing.

Re: checking posts
I have no problem with people cranking out 8 tunes a day if they want, and there's certain people that I check out on a regular basis based on my personal taste. I WISH I could listen and comment on every song, but it's just not possible. I have a hard enough time just keepin' up with stuff in the Crapper, lol.

Re: checking posts
While that would make an awesome avatar, I've gotten plenty of requests to bring back the Will Ferrell Cowbell. I'm a man of the people afterall.

Re: checking posts
Some of us also don't have the bandwidth either.
I'm stuck at home with a 128k connection, that requires me to connect both lines to get the full 128k connection, thus pissing the wife off. So I have to make do with a slow 64k connection most of the time.
Whenever I download anything, I can forget doing anything else for a while.
I can get them at work, fastly, but then I have the dilemma of the fact that I am at work, so I usually can't devote all my attention to them as well as getting some time when my manager's not looking to reply to it.
Much as I love this site, I know who pays my wages, and I can't justify not getting work done on time, if I am caught posting on a message board all the time.

However, I "may" be able to get broadband, so that is being checked out, and if so, it will sort out a lot of problems !!!

Re: checking posts
I ip tunnel through port 22 to a remote squid server just to bypass my proxy at work. Sad but a junkie goes to great lengths to get his fix
