Cover Band
I know there are quite a few of you on this forum who are from my neck of the woods. I have been trying to get a cover band going now with a long time friend/collaborator of mine but it isn't progressing as quickly as I would like it to. Looking to play around Hoboken, NYC, the local colleges doing bluesy, hard rock tunes. Looking to put the whole thing together from scratch, rehearsals in either Bergen or Passaic county 1x a week to get rolling. Someone here must be interested. Getting your ass out and having a good time in the bars beats the shit outta wanking it in your room. This is totally open to all ideas. Just need to gauge interest. I have also been searching through the Aquarian for interest. I don't see why this is so hard, unless people don't enjoy playing out any more. There are quite a few of you that I would love to put a band together with but, unfortunately, distance would make it impossible. Drop me a PM if you have any interest at all.

If I didn't suck, I'd love to join! LOL Nah seriously. I don't have a car right now, so it would be impossible for me to do anything right now. But I do miss being in a band and want to put a cover group together myself in the near future. Good luck man.

Far as I’m concerned, Eddie’s the complete package. Technique aside, his rhythm playing, feel, songwriting, tone, riffs, leads, man, it’s all there. It’s like the best-tasting beer you ever drank in your life! ~Zakk Wylde

Sucka you and Vanman donut live that far where it would be impossible to do something like this. It would require a lot of work at home on the tunes with getting together maybe 2x a month to rehearse. Something to think about. I have old contacts to get bookings, btw.
I am really jonesing to play out, I miss it and the entertainment I get from it. So I will persue this...

You're right about that. If VanMan is down, I might be down too. I got the gear, and I always wanna play. So maybe it's a possibility.

I envy you bastards! We only have guitarists around my neck of the woods. There is a guy who I play with on occasion on drums. And we have a couple of other guitarists there we all take turns playing bass. The drummer is really good, but not interested in anything more than the occasional living room jam. That's cool. I am pretty much the same way Who has time for anything more these days!

It's the same where I'm from...everyone plays guitar...NO BASS PLAYERS OR DRUMMERS ANYWHERE!! I've been tryin' to get a another band project started for over 2 years and no luck. I just wanna play some old school metal once and a while but it seems impossible.
Good Luck Sting.

Same thing here. I actually thought about switching to bass just for that reason. There's lots of gigs if you're a bass player or drummer.
