"Day without Immigrants" Impacts
If you experienced an impact on today due to the Immigrants protesting, post it here:
Dallas -
Cesar's Tacos - Closed.
Jerry's Supermarket - Closed.
There have been unsubstantiated reports of a North Dallas "Jack in the Box" being impacted. We have our helicopters on their way to investigate.
And noted that as today the protest was to include not purchasing anything, Mary Gibson was quoted in the Dallas Morning News, "I had to get coffee, but I'm not buying anything else,” she said. “No groceries, no gas, no nothing." Wonder what Juan Valdez thinks about this...
I think this one sums up the entire protest as reported in the Dallas Morning News:
From the umbrella-shaded patio of the Café Brazil restaurant on Central Expressway in Dallas, Ruben Garza admitted feeling a bit guilty about buying breakfast. But he and friend Juan Mendez insisted it would be their only purchase of the day.
“We can’t starve,” said Mr. Garza, a 27-year-old Oak Cliff resident. “We don’t have anybody at home making us anything to eat.”
Mr. Garza said all of his Latino co-workers at Alba Remodeling in Dallas asked for the day off, prompting the company to close.
So I guess Ruben and Juan will sit under the umbrella until lunch, then sit a little more until dinner...
Yup, there you have it folks! Dallas, out.
