It actually makes quite a bit of sense...
What happens is you make a generic torrent file, with their tracker address on it. You load it onto their site & then they give your torrent a modification to give the address a specific thread. So, then, you need to have their (new updated) torrent file downloaded to your machine to make the hub. All you do is download the torrent file & when it opens up your client, point it to the folder you have your folder located. It will then check & confirm that you have the files & within seconds, you're a seeder...
The only thing you download is their torrent (tracker) file...
You don't upload until someone else downloads the modified torrent (tracker) file...
So, when they say upload & download, they are simply talking about the torrent (tracker) file. That's how you hook into their system...
I agree @ 1st, it's hard to get a good ratio, but if you let your connection sit open on a popular thread, then you can get some decent ratio #s. As stated, @ 1st, you might even be best off torrenting stuff that's popular, rather than what meets your fancy. Many x's you can build a ratio by doing that, that gives you a padding to go get the obscure stuff you want...
