Hi,
Yesterday I took my kid to the Sound Image recording studio.
Awesome place with lots of history and the walls are covered with gold records from Dio, Nirvana, Mr Big,
Tom Petty, etc.
Enough name dropping.
We went there to support two of colleagues from the band Last Falling who are recording drums for their album. They are in there until Monday.
We loved the recording process and miking of the drums. About 20 mics all over.. Above and below each drum head, plus overheads, and distant stero and mono miking within the room and into another room 20 feet away...
Thay will have 14 tracks to mix, allowing them to balance close- and distant-miking sounds to get that Bonham sound they are after.
We listened to the live feed in the control room and it was feckin' amazing!
Here's a few shots in the next post.
