Great way to share / transfer files!!!

I just discovered this, and it is AWESOME! Its called Hamachi, and it provides a way to share files / folders on a VERY SECURE network. The best part is that this bad boy transverses routers and NATs so there is NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT PORT FORWARDING!

Once its installed and running, getting files from A to B is as easy as Drag and Drop. You just browse the remote computers files, find what you are looking for and then drag and drop it into a local folder. NIFTY!

Here's where you can find it at:

www.hamachi.cc

It's open source freeware - gotta love that!

In fact I have been thinking about starting a Network just for us here at G101 so that we can trade files at will - u know backing tracks, files for Jams etc..... Could be really cool!

I'll let ya know when I have one set up and we can go from there.

I'm at work right now.

Unfortunately at home I am also behind some stupid xblock bullshit and my ISP is saying it must be my computer

If they don't get it fixed soon I'm going to just cancel service and I guess live w/o internet. I don't think there is any other option where I live. Dialup sucks too much.

Well what you can do is install Hamachi at work and at home, then you can use Hamachi like a VPN "Tunnel" to connect your two machines. Then use a remote control client such as VNC to remotely control the other computer via Hamachi. Sweet eh? LOL

Do you have any sort of "internet privacy" software installed at home? Maybe thats causing the problem. Have you ever tried a different PC on the home connection to see if the problems duplicate? Just some ideas.

No, I use Linux; I don't know if there is any privacy software for that system and at any rate I never installed any. The only thing it could be at home would be the dsl router or the wireless router and I haven't changed anything on those units. The blocker started happening on thursday or friday. Plus the website I get is from the ISP and not from some other place so it really has to be them by process of elimination and the fact that I couldn't redirect my porn to a site I didn't know about located somewhere in the bowels of the ISP's network

No, something is sending a redirect when I try to browse certain sites or search certain words. I did a packet sniff and sent them a dump. If it isn't up when I get home I'll bash someone

Either that or I'll send a REAL dump.

I am not too sure how trusting I am of this software. If it works anything like remote access, safety could be an issue, because once your computer is opened up through it, how are you to stop anyone from just waltzing in...Passwords are simply just a hindrance to those really wanting in...til I see more specs on this, I think I am going to stay as far away as possible...better safe now, then sorry later...
