Guilty Pleasures - Television
Okay, sometimes I watch garbage on TV and I even enjoy it at times. Here is a sampling:
American Idol - Most of you know I have a hard on for this show even though I almost always hate the music. I revel in seeing someones dreams crushed on a weekly basis. Yes Randy Jackson (formerly of Journey) is annoying with his "Dawg" stuff and Paula adds nothing but a hot body (man, she didn't have THAT 13 years ago) - but Simon in genius.
The Food Network - I love just about every show on here especially Essence of Emeril , Good Eats with Alton Brown Iron Chef , and Unwrapped . My new digital cable provider (the fuckers known as Comcast) don't offer this channel and I'm considering doing an Elvis on my TV.

Re: Guilty Pleasures - Television
I have a couple a favorite shows i better leave unnamed at this point. But I have to admit they are really funny. Only in order to watch them I have to either record them, which i never do, or stay up until 1 0'clock in the morning. Needless to say I havent seen 'em in quite some time. Actually about a week. Re: Guilty Pleasures - Television
Yeah, I've gotten hooked on a few reality T.V. shows and Soaps through my girlfriend. She loves them, and before you know it, you're hooked into the same recycled storyline, or obsessed with how someone's living their little life.
I try to watch as little as possible of this crap nowadays.
Gotta admit, I like my Star Trek. But I have to wait up until midnight to watch it, and then there's so many commercial breaks on Sky One !!!
I don't know where the obsession is, maybe it's because it's the one view of the future where everything turns out alright, or is it the fact that there's loads of San Francisco shots ? Maybe it's the fact that I always dreamed of being shot into space ???
Mind you, My Dad said I would have been, if he hadn't have been so drunk at the time !!!

Re: Guilty Pleasures - Television
Well, defintiely Food Network, like WIP said.
My favorites are Bobby Flay (Hot Off The Grill, Food Nation, Boy Meets Grill), Tyler Florence (Food 911, Tyler's Ultimate), Emeril (Emeril Live), Alton Brown (Good Eats), and Ming Tsai (East Meets West).
I also have a few shows I like to watch when I catch them on - Nash Bridges, PSI Factor, Crank Yankers, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Bernie Mac Show, just to name a few.
Fab got me into American Idol as well. I don't care for 95% of the music myself, but the competitions are fun.
Some that I used to watch religiously but haven't kept up with are Friends, The Simpsons, Will and Grace, and Just Shoot Me.

Re: Guilty Pleasures - Television
On the subject of the Food Network, here's something that I posted at VHForums that I thought I'd post here too -
Funny thing I saw thwe other night, for you fellow Food TV addicts:
Ming Tsai had Bobby Flay on "East Meats West" as a guest, and they are using pulled pork as an ingredient. Well, Bobby starts just chatting away like he always does (much as I like Flay, the man is a hog for camera time), and at one point, while he is rambling some kiss-ass thing about using ginger as an ingredient to Ming, he asks what he can do - and Ming says , totally stonefaced "yeah, why don't you pull my pork for me there, bobby". LOL!!!
I totally lost it - and either neither of them realized what was said, or Ming was making a point that they both ignored until the commercial breaks ( :fryingpanfight: ). Either way, it was a classic moment.

My bad - I like $40 a Day ok, but I can't stand her other show. She's cute and all, but I don't like watching her as a cook. Even in the case of the $40 a Day, which I think is a great concept for a show - I get tired of her thinking everything is awesome and going "mmmmmmmm!!!" every time she tries something , with her eyes rolling back in her head. <-------- like that

Well, I just watch her because the "trash bowl" concept is genius!
I wasn't looking at her breasts I swear

Man, Si3p, that is a guilty pleasure. However, I applaud your confidence in your masculinity to admit to it.
