HIV diagnosis wrong after 8 years

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- A California man who once tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS has learned the diagnosis made eight years ago was mistaken and he was never infected.

This guy says (rhetorically, to the doctor)...."You mean to tell me that all you have to say is you are sorry? Sorry that I lived for all this time believing I was going to die?"

Weeeeeeeelllllllll, I got news for you buddy......We all die eventually. If anything, I would imagine it made him live his life with more gusto than he had before the false diagnosis. If I found out that I had AIDS, I would immediately quit my job and make as many guitar recordings of my own song ideas and also cover tunes of my most favorite songs as I could possibly fit into my remaining days. I would only be slightly pissed about this and mostly overjoyed to find out I wasn't going to die pre-maturely.

its a terrible thing...but why didnt he get a second opinion...lesson.... is if your ever diagnosed with something that serious...get a second test to be sure

oh my god, That is terrible. The clinic did a second test, it came up negative, and never shared the information with him.
I would be pissed als, but At least it was good news.

I would guess it's like finding out your not on Death Row and the Warden lets you go....but hell...I would be happy just being alive...pissed at the neglegence, but thankfull I was alive unlimited....(the dude probably had to go without sex for 8 yrs...OUCH!!)..."Doc...bend over...I wanna say thank you.."

Along the lines of 3fingers response, I was watching Dateline the other day and they released some poor bastard after he served 15 years for pedophilia. Turns out he really was wrongly accused. I'm sure he had a grand old time all those years with that PEDO label but, wtf right, it was an honest mistake...
