hey guys,
i was looking ot buy an mp3 player...possibly 40 gigs but otherwise 20 only....i was wondering which mp3 player u guys wld recommend....figured that this wld be the best place to find out cos of the number of musicians.. ....as far as i know...the ipod looks gorgeous...the iriver has the best sound quality plus recorded plus radio...and the sony looks way good too but not too many ppl seem to have bought it....
ps .i read that some ppl haave problems with the iriver buttons adn that they get stuck....any news on that?

from what i've heard the irivers are really top notch for musicians .. the ipods have terrible recording sound and aren't really practical if you want to record rehearsals or practices .. if you just want to play music though .. the ipod could be for you

I wouldn't be able to say really what the iriver is like to handle , but from what i've heard from a few people who have them they are really great , i have an ipod and it's simple to use and easy to navigate with the wheel thing on it . i'd say both in terms of sound playing mp3's etc i'd imagine they'd be very similar . but i'm sure someone else could give you more info .

and i haven't heard really anything about the sony

I just got my wife a Zen and she loves it. We subscribe to Napster so she is loaded for bear for like $10 or $15 a month! She really loves hers.

sony info.... you have to encode songs using sonys propreitary software... you can not put any mp3 you want on the sony and have it play.

Now.. this is all second hand information.. but if its true.. forget sony.

I don't know the answer to your questtion. I don't know many people who would buy all 3 items to compare them, because that would be the only way to get an idea...

I own a 20GB iPod and it has all my music. I use it at home when I do yard work or chores, in the car as a music player as it's plugged into my power amp and sound system, and at the office for music as well as for data transfer. I also use it to record interviews on the phone with the iTalk attachment. I'm very happy with it. That's all I can say.

Ball's in your court now!
