Re: Just scored RUSH tickets for Wembley!
They played a little of everything when I saw them about two months ago here in Kansas City. They have so many good songs that I can't really recall what they DIDN'T play. THey did play a small section of tunes from their new album which is the tribute to all the songs that influenced them when they first formed (obviously post-Rutsey days), which are covers from the late 60s, mostly blues-rock-based. They have some cool video clips featuring Jerry Stiller (George Castanza's dad on Seinfeld) which are pretty hilarious. He even comes on screen after the show telling everyone to go home. There is a laundry washer and dryer and some vending machines onstage throughout the show. They do a two or three song acoustic "un-plugged" section which is cool. All-in-all these three still rock and put on a great, professional and disciplined show (unlike one of my other idols, Eddie, who obviously isn't as concerned about his legacy/fans as he is the bottle). The only drawback to this show is a complaint that I have had since about the time you stopped seeing them in concert (around Hold Your Fire time period) and that is that Alex still uses WAY too much effects on his guitar sound, making it hard to hear most of the details of his solos. Big venue concerts is just not the place to crank up your reverb and delay to eleven!
But I am confident that you will have an overall grreat experience. Have fun and let us know how it went.
On a side note, I just realized from that "Wembley" comment that you reside in England. Right-O, mate! (the guy who sits next to me at work is originally from England and he always says "Right-O").
