Agreed
But if you must use IE, try the google toolbar. The popup blocker on it works very well.

I think I may have used that in the past - but for some reason I took it off.

I agree first off with the Firefox route, I use that at home.
If not, you can might find some on download.com. I used to have one called popupkiller which was so-so, you had to add popups to list as they came up (one click, but still a pain) and they would never come up again. Maybe a newer version is out that's better.

I took your advice Stingx. .
Now running Firefox - pretty nice - quick too - not so cluttered.
Thanks again. .
BUT!
I have run into a nagging problem with Firefox.
It won't let me copy and paste text into these posting boxes we have here at G101. WTF? SO I'm back to good old IE

Not sure why that would happen. I use FireFox and have no problem copying and pasting

It's still doing it. It doesn't give me the right menu - when I right click the mouse. The Paste command isn't on it for some damn reason

Ok, gotcha. Well you can use the ctrl-c to copy/ctrl-v to paste.
There is a problem with Firefox in which the javascript doesn't allow access to the clipboard. Anyone using the copy/paste buttons in their reply will get an error saying they have to edit their config file in Mozilla.
I created a script file to fix the problem.
Download it and unzip it to get the file user.js
To use it you first have to close Firefox.
Then click Start > Run, enter %AppData% and press ok.
This will take you to the Application Data folder.
Then go to Mozilla -> Firefox -> Profiles -> *****.default folder
This is where you put the user.js
Open Firefox, sign in to G101 and the copy/paste buttons in the reply box and it should be working now
I guess I should be putting this in the feedback forum for others who might have this problem.

I never had that problem either...but I personally would never go back to IE..I would take just about any other browser over that one...I have never been a fan of the explorer browser and probably never will
