That's the whole point ! To scare the shit out of yourself ! Ha ha ha !!!
But no, they don't scare me that much. To be honest, queueing up for Nemesis is worse than actually riding on it, because it whips around you in the queue and looks a lot more frightening than it actually is.
Having said that, I have always sat in the middle two seats on this ride, and I sat on the outside for the first time on this visit, and bugger me if those walls aren't damn close to you !!! My heart rate was a lot higher than normal. But then, to me, that's the way I guage whether a ride is good or not. If my heart's pumping and I'm buzzing, then yeah, it's wicked.
I went on
SUBMISSION :
And the harness comes over the top of you, and a bar locks it into place. As you can see, I'm not the smallest of guys, and the bloody bar was creaking. So when it stopped upside down, I was a little apprehansive about it giving way and me falling out. But yeah, I was a little excited as well - heh heh heh !!!

OBLIVION :
The only vertical drop rollercoaster in the World (so Alton Towers say). It hangs over the edge for a couple of seconds, and then plumits into the hole. If you hold your hands and feet up in the air when you are teeteering over the edge, then you experience complete weightlessness as you plunge downwards.
Now that takes some doing. I whimped out the first time as I shat myself and grabbed hold of the harness. The second time though I managed to hold my hands and feet up in the air, and let me tell you, the ride is so much more awesome. I've been doing it that way ever since.
