Hit the tag for an explanation of how this "magic" works.
Following the "pick a 2 digit number, add the two numbers together, and subtract them from your original number" method, you are ALWAYS going to end up with a number that is a factor of 9.
e.g.
10 (1+0 = 1) 10 - 1 = 9 : 9 x 1
11 (1+1 = 2) 11 - 2 = 9 : 9 x 1
12 (1+2 = 3) 12 - 3 = 9 : 9 x 1
13 (1+3 = 4) 13 - 4 = 9 : 9 x 1
14 (1+4 = 5) 14 - 5 = 9 : 9 x 1
15 (1+5 = 6) 15 - 6 = 9 : 9 x 1
...
...
33 (3+3 = 6) 33 - 6 = 27 : 9 x 3
...
...
65 (6+5 = 11) 65 - 11 = 54 : 9 x 6
...
99 (9+9 = 18) 99 - 18 = 81 : 9 x 9
So, although the symbols change, everytime the table is generated, the numbers for 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, and 81 will always have the same symbol.
Why not for 90 and 99 though ? Well, try and pick a two digit number and get a result greater than 81 using the formula.
You can't !
Hence only the factors of 9 from 1 to 81 (9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81).
And suddenly, the magic is gone !
