NFL 2003
Thought it was about time we get this going. Here are my musings about the season so far:
<ul type="square"> [*]If the Jets expect to win any games with Testaverde, they may want to try throwing the ball further than three yards. [*]The Rams and Kurt Warner look like they are in for a LONG season. Marc Bulger, get ready, this team is about to be yours. [*]Another long year for Cowboy fans (including me). There is hope, but not much of it for this year [*]What the hell happened to the Dolphins? Dave Wandstadt, you may begin preparing your resume now. [*]Futility, thy name is Kordell [*]I wouldn't want to play the Bills right now. They looked fantastic last week beating up on New England. [*]I think that age is finally catching up to the Raiders this year.
And, finally, The Game of the Week :
Philadelphia at New England - someone will actually score in this game, right?

I agree with what the guys on "Inside The NFL" were saying about Testeverde and Jets, he is not a dink and dunk QB put him in the shotgun and let him throw down the field stop all this dink and dunk stuff. Kurt Warner has not been the same since the Super Bowl loss to the Pats. I agree with you wip it looks like another long year for Cowboy fans. What the hell did happen to the 'Phins last week? As a Lions fan I just have to say one thing to the Bears about getting Kordell: Thanks! The Bills are lokking pretty good right now. I don't know about age catching up with (in best Chris Berman voice) The Raiders, I think it is a little to early to tell. It is going to be a tough week for the Lions, having to go into Green Bay and play a piseed off Packers team but hopefully the Lions can manage to get a their frist win in GB since 1991, Go Lions!! Me too but I don't worry about it when they are playing easy teams like Dallas etc.

Re: NFL 2003
First of all, 49er fan, they don't play Dallas this year. Second of all, if Dallas DID play the 49er's, I'd be willing to put some cash up that the Cowboys would win.

Re: NFL 2003
Lucky for Dallas then eh? I think of it like this; If I had a fight schedule with Lennox Lewis I would surely get my ass kicked but if I didn't show up I wouldn't have to face the humiliation

Poor, confused Eric. It would seem that you are under the impression that individual football teams are able to control their own schedules. In fact, the exact opposite is the case. NFL schedules are determined at league headquarters in New York by a complex formula including previous year's won/loss record and must figure in six games within each teams specific division. In the case of the Dallas Cowboys, this year's schedule must include two games (one home and one away) with the Washington Redskins, New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. The remainder of the schedule is chosen by the League.
So, Sir Eric, it's easy to see that the Cowboys are not running from a fight. However, I would imagine that Jeff Garcia will be running for his life this weekend against the Orange Crush of the Denver defense.

Eric, I'm proud you for admitting how difficult it was to watch the Cowboys pummel the 49er's - very big of you.

Re: NFL 2003
The Lions really stunk up the field against GB today! No running game, dropped passes, horrendous tackling in the first quarter, just an all around stinker of a performance!
