Maybe the local knowledge is lost on the internet. If so, I apologise...
Transit is a form of van over here in the UK. i.e. Ford Transit. Hence the Venus Transit would look like the picture...

I think this goes into the same category as the following joke. I told this northern joke down south :
English man, Scottish man and Irish man board a plane to Amsterdam.
English man gets off the plane and is welcomed by a Dutch lady who asks why he has come to Holland. He tells her that he's always wanted to grow Tulips in Amsterdam. She welcomes him to the country.
Next off the plane is the Scotsman. He is greeted the same, and explains how he's always wanted to learn how to make clogs. He is also welcomed to Holland.
The Irish man gets off the plane. He is welcomed to Holland the same way, to which his response is....
"Well, ya see, I've come to complain about yer pies !!!"
I expect only wahwah and Geordie will get this one.. I thought it was the funniest joke I had ever heard only to discover that this brand of pie maker's were not Nationally known...
