Re: Say Whatever You Feel Like Saying :)
Okay, I'll start. I LOVE midgets. As wrong as it sounds, I would like to have my own midget. Male or female, it doesn't matter. Just a little buddy to hang with and put in the sock drawer when we're sleeping. I once saw a midget fall down steps, and I can vividly remember thinking to myself" Now this is something you don't see every day. I should be over there helping but I'm stupified by the fact that I just saw a midget fall down steps. I may never see this again. " LIttle people, if you're out there call me.

Okay Okay - My Turn . Didnt disco absolutely suck? That brought peoples "musical intelligence" back to pre-school. I think disco lead to rap as well. The function of a drummer replaced by a machine, the spotlight just on vocalists - it points to rap down the line. If you hear any early rap, its basically a disco song with guys rapping. The stuff they sample from in modern rap is even old disco and some 70s r n b. Either way. The disco era helped ruin good music forever. And i think anyone whos into rock would agree.

Yea. I actually like some of the "funk" music from the 70s...But when it bled into disco it just became horrible. Yea i hold nothing against r n b. But i have taken notice that old r n b is what all the rappers STEAL their drum beats and basslines from.

Re: Say Whatever You Feel Like Saying :)
only rapper i have ever liked i Tupac Shakur aka 2-Pac . he always seemed to have some sort of message or meaning to his songs rather than simply talking bout girls or drugs or shooting blah blah blah . he talked about issues and thinks that meant something to him . i respect him alot for that

Re: Say Whatever You Feel Like Saying :)
The spotlight just on vocalists? Yeah, I'm okay with that, lol! I agree that any music that replaces human players with machines is shit. Not that I'm bagging on the guy that composes on his computer at all. But when you've got the option and you're using a drum machine? Bad producer! Bad! And no, I wasn't kidding about the midgets, lol! I love 'em. "Midgets...they do a movie good!"

Re: Say Whatever You Feel Like Saying :)
Yea. When you have the ability to hire studio musians, but program beats into a machine yourself (with little or no knowledge of rythm) instead, then i cant cut that person much slack. Like you said though, i dont have a problem with composition on the computer. I do it myself on cakewalk, but its never like "this is my song...as a midi file". I just do it to get the ideas out. Then hopefully one of these days im gonna assign it to real instruments and record it; giving it the human feel it needs. Funny about the midgets HAHA.

I'm very dangerous with medication. It comes from years of British humor, Zappa CD's and an utter disregard for taste, tact or decorum. And yes, I pride myself as being a self-taught intellectual.

Monty Python, The Young Ones(and the movies they spawned Bad News and More Bad News, highly recommend them), Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, Mr. Bean. It's all good.
