One of the other forums I regularly check out is for the n-Track Studio recording software. It's a pretty good community of users and they have a solid music forum over there. There was a guy who used to post some of his songs, but they were all a little unusual because they didn't use conventional instrumentation. I went to his Web site and found out that he's quadriplegic and has to compose and record his music very slowly and deliberately on the PC by utilizing midi programming. I was a bit stunned when I learned about this. I certainly take my situation in life for granted. But just as important, the guy writes very complex and catchy original songs. He just posted a message today that another amateur musician was interested in covering one of his songs. That's got to be about the ultimate compliment to get. Anyway, Jon Weems is his name. Check out his Web site:

If you ever feel like you're struggling to get through the day or a rough period in your life, Jon's story is one that should help you realize that you can survive and thrive against things that seem insurmountable. Be sure to read "About Me" and please listen to his songs. He's got some awesome melodies and musical arrangements.
