Someone who's music you should hear

One of the other forums I regularly check out is for the n-Track Studio recording software. It's a pretty good community of users and they have a solid music forum over there. There was a guy who used to post some of his songs, but they were all a little unusual because they didn't use conventional instrumentation. I went to his Web site and found out that he's quadriplegic and has to compose and record his music very slowly and deliberately on the PC by utilizing midi programming. I was a bit stunned when I learned about this. I certainly take my situation in life for granted. But just as important, the guy writes very complex and catchy original songs. He just posted a message today that another amateur musician was interested in covering one of his songs. That's got to be about the ultimate compliment to get. Anyway, Jon Weems is his name. Check out his Web site:

If you ever feel like you're struggling to get through the day or a rough period in your life, Jon's story is one that should help you realize that you can survive and thrive against things that seem insurmountable. Be sure to read "About Me" and please listen to his songs. He's got some awesome melodies and musical arrangements.

Oh man, I remember I ended up in his site some time ago, and it really made me think what the guts that guy has, it is really a lesson for the rest of us which complain ( Iīm the first one) about strugglin with life probs, and donīt realize we have to be gratefull with the "simple" fact of only being able to use our hands. "Heīs got the balls", thats for sure.

Appreciate the replies. It's hard to fathom having to make music that way. I'm not one to have much patience and this situation would be very trying. However, most people who are motivated are able to find ways to overcome obstacles. It's inspiring how Jon seeks to be accepted purely on his musical talents and not try to play up sympathies over his condition. He seems very matter of fact; this is how it is and that's all that needs to be mentioned. He definitely lets the music do the talking.
