One thing I've learned over the years..............if he ain't your sound guy, you can't depend on him. Well, yes i guess you can depend on him.............to screw things up.

so true...you have to have your own power to adjust for Soundman flaws but sometimes it only sounds bad from where you are and its fine out front...ive learned to play bearly hearing myself due to crappy monitor settings and soundmen that dont understand hand cues ...some soundmen love what they do and others just dont have the ear or arent into it

dude, there will be other competitions, just shake it off, and bring it back for the next one...there isn't much you can do about it now though, so like everyone's said, just shake it off, thats all you can really do

Yea, The sound guy at establishments always messed up my sound when I was in bands playing gigs. It seems like it's rather commonplace unfortunately. The best way to avoid this is to try your best to inform the sound man of what you and your fellow musician's preferences are, or get one of your own, or become your own soundman.

Ive learned to make sure my stuff sounds tight before i even start thinking about going out there to play infront of people. lol. i guess i like being involved that way. a compotent soundman would be cool though i imagine. good luck finding one
