Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Scissors Attack

WAUPACA, Wis. (AP) - A 42-year-old woman accused of cutting her husband's penis with scissors has pleaded not guilty to a charge of substantial battery.
Theresa L. Hedtke of rural New London entered the plea Tuesday before Waupaca County Circuit Judge Philip Kirk, who scheduled a status conference for Aug. 8.
The charge stems from a May 15 incident at the couple's home in which she allegedly accused her husband of cheating on her. He was treated for his injury, which required several stitches to repair.
