Trans-Siberian Orchestra...

never having heard their music, i bought tickets to a show here, last year... all i knew was that it was a combinaton of classical Christmas music and rock and roll... my wife is nuts for classical music, and i obviously love rock and roll, so i figured we'd go... she loved it too...

man, what a show... if you get a chance to see them this holiday season, DON'T MISS IT!!! last year the show was loaded with lighting effects, lasers, fog machines and so on... i can't wait to go back this year... get tickets early, they sell out almost every show... i got mine an hour after they went on sale, 2 weeks ago, and only got seats in the middle somewhere...

i just picked up a cd today and can't turn it off... it rocks!!!

Santa with an electric guitar and a Marshall They take Christmas songs and "metalize" them, for lack of another word

i wouldn't exactly say "metalize", but thats' the general idea... take a typically "orchestra-oriented" piece of music, and play it with a hard rocking type of ensemble...
but, also, they have a lot of slow, quiet, and melodic spots in their shows, too.. lots of "choir" type songs, but it all has that good, driving beat...
if i can figure out how to record from my cd to my computer (i'm not real computer literate ), maybe i can upload a tune or two...

Re: Trans-Siberian Orchestra...

saw the show last night... it KICKED ASS!!!

even more lighting, lasers and effects this year...

and pyrotechnics, too...

not to mention 3 gorgeous babes singing on several of their songs... these girls were drop dead knock-outs!!!

met some of the band after the show, just kinda in passing, really great group of folks!!!

if they come to your area DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!!

this was absolutely the best sounding live show i have EVER heard... perfect mix and you could hear any and every instrument or voice at the same time!!!

<----- that was me all night long... they played for 2 hours and 45 minutes with no intermission...

TSO rocks!!!
