When it comes to filming guitar players why are people such cocks?

Doesn't seem to matter what the era or who the player is the folks in TV land appear to think the thing we want to see is either a close up of the guitarist's face or the drummer's right ear. WHY?!!! We want to see their hands on the damn guitar!!

Nothing better than seeing them play live wether if its in a club or a stadium But i know what you mean

I'm still an amateur, and usually forget,but sometimes I am good at guessing when a guitar solo will happen and zoom in on the hands.

When I was eager to learn guitar,(a long time ago) I would probably want ONLY a zoom of the guitarist's , and bassist's hands. I would not care at all seeing their stage moves,or the stage set,or fans reactions.

Now I am old and don't care about much, except have a beer and maybe be entertained.

I have never had anyone give me hints on what to do.

My camera lens has pinhole burns from lights over the years, so looks like cheap,old bootleg quality in the first place, and it's a mini dv-tape cam from just 7 years ago.
