I grew up in the '90s. The Nickelodeon era. Yet I had a thing for Hannah-Barbara shows, like The Jetsons, The Flintstones, and Secret Squirrel (which I absolutely LOVED, and dont understand why they haven't released the DVD series yet. I never cared for the stuff on Nickelodeon. I still watched Rugrats (which, for an odd reason was my alltime favorite for my entire early childhood), Doug, Double Dare, and all that, but I always preferred the stuff I grew up to on Cartoon Network, such as older Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Cow & Chicken, Two Stupid Dogs, What A Cartoon!, etc. THAT stuff was gold! I spent about four years anticipating for Friday nights on Cartoon Network, when they would debut new episodes of all the best shows. I'd spend 7-10 pm every friday night just hypnotized by these Cartoons. Around 2000-2001, ALL of these shows got new writers, and sucked afterward. Maybe thats why my life turned to music and mature sitcoms (Seinfeld, Whose Line?, etc.). And Cartoon Network only plays the new shit, never giving credit to what really took the station off to a large audience in the mid '90s. So whenever I catch an old episode (If I'm even lucky enough to catch an old show) you be your ass I'll be watching it, and enjoying it, as I reminice on my past, when there wasnt a worry in the world.

Thats basically the story of my cartoon life. Listing of the shows I absolutely LOVED:

Rugrats
Doug
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Double Dare
Dexter's Laboratory
Johnny Bravo
Cow & Chicken
Two Stupid Dogs
What A Cartoon!

The majority of kids my age who post around here probably know what I'm talking about. Parents of kids my age should, too. Nowadays, I'll turn on Nick and watch Spongebob Squarepants or Fairly Oddparents. Those are basically the only two cartoons I'll watch, as every good idea in the world has probably been done. Now you'll find me watching cartoons like those two, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and King of the Hill

ooops - edit. LOL

I was thinking Cartoon strips from the newspaper.

Geez, cartoons on TV ... I liked so many it's hard to say what my favorite was. I liked Tom and Jerry a lot, and when I started getting a little older, Battle of the Planets (G-Force) was cool.

Holy shit! I remember this show!

Basically it was Looney Tunes, Underdog, Tom & Jerry. All of the usual stuff. I even remember the Beatles cartoon series they had in prime time in the mid 70's.

But I can't believe nobody has mentioned the greatest cartoon show of all time....
